Tunes and horses.

Summer Sounds at the Curragh kicks off tonight in the Curragh, Co Kildare, with a fantastic night of music and horseracing. It’s a chance for you to get suited and booted, catch some brilliant racing after work on a Friday, and cap the night off with a live performance by the award-winning Irish band, Seo Linn.

This music/racing one-two promises to be one of the best partnerships since the invention of the crisp sandwich.

It’s the first of three special evenings of quality horseracing and amazing live shows by some amazing Irish musical talent. The three Summer Sounds events take place on 8 June, 29 June and 31 August.

Music fans can have a flutter on the tonight’s races before watching Seo Linn give classic pop songs an “as Gaeilge” makeover. They’ll entertain the crowd with their unique takes on major pop hits as well as their own original material.

Racing aficionados won’t be disappointed, with seven competitive races kicking off at 5.25pm. The pick of the bunch is undoubtedly the TRM Ballygowan Stakes at 7.45pm.

Ticket holders will also be entitled to complimentary admission to Kildare’s newest venue, Studio One, after the event. So your night doesn’t have to end after the horseracing and the music. There will also be a shuttle service provided after the racing.

Summer sounds at the Curragh incorporates racing and live music on three Friday nights this summer. The dates are June 8, June 29 and August 31.

Tickets start at €10 and hospitality at €29, you can book tickets on their website.
