Sunshine to continue tomorrow after summer solstice sees temperatures of up to 20 degrees

Temperatures are set to reach highs of 20 degrees again, according to Met Éireann.

The sunshine and good weather are set to continue tomorrow after the summer solstice saw temperatures of up to 20 degrees on Monday.

Temperatures will reach highs of 20 degrees again on Tuesday, according to Met Éireann.

The forecaster predicts that conditions will be mostly fine and sunny on Monday evening with just a little patchy cloud about and a blustery northerly breeze which will persist but gradually decrease in strength.

Meanwhile, Tuesday will begin dry and mostly sunny and cloud will increase in the west and north during the late morning and afternoon bringing some patchy rain there by late afternoon or early evening.

Across the east and south, it will remain dry throughout most of the day with even more sunny spells.

Maximum temperatures will generally range from 15 to 20 degrees, warmest in the south and east.

Wednesday will see a rather dull and cloudy start to the day, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle.

A clearance to drier conditions will develop from the northwest through the day with some afternoon and evening sunny spells for the western half of the country, staying cloudier further east with some patchy drizzle continuing.

Highest temperatures will reach 17 to 19 degrees generally with light to moderate west to northwest breezes.
