According to the ‘ever reliable’ North Korean state-run media, the supreme leader Kim Jong Un has been elected to the highest legislative body in the country with 100 per cent of the vote.

Not only was Kim Jong Un elected to the highest legislative body in North Korea today, but he was also elected with 100 per cent confidence from his people. Yeah… confidence.

According to USA Today, the vote was held in order to approve the new roster of deputies for the Supreme People’s Assembly. However, USA Today did go on to say, “The vote, more a political ritual than an election by Western standards, is generally held once every five years.”

Still, we’re sure Kim Jong Un will be delighted to hear that there was a 100 per cent turn out from the people of North Korea for the vote… which sounds ridiculous on so many different levels.

“This is an expression of all the service personnel and people’s absolute support and profound trust in supreme leader Kim Jong Un as they single-mindedly remain loyal to him,” the state-run Korean Central News Agency said.

Apparently, voters don’t actually get a choice of who to vote for in their respective districts. Instead, they have one choice and they can choose to vote ‘yes’ or ‘no’ for their one and only candidate.

No surprises for guessing that virtually all the votes counted for each district during this election were a ‘yes’.
