Houses evacuated and bomb squad called as “suspicious device” found in Dublin

Suspicious Device Durrow Road

The Army’s bomb disposal unit was called to the scene.

A number of residents in Kimmage, Dublin have been evacuated from their homes after a suspicious device was discovered on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Gardaí, the device was located in the garden of a house on the Durrow Road at approximately 3.30pm.

The area has been sealed off and the Army Explosion Ordinance Disposal unit has been called in.

Stannaway Road has been closed temporarily as a result and a number of minor diversions have been put in place.
