Prior to their show at The Dom, which had sold out within a week of going on sale, the song had already popularised across the UK, and was even playlisted by BBC 6 Music.
Speaking on the release, lead singer Paul Banks said: “This version of the Man who seeks pleasure is particularly special to us.
"It’s from the last show on our debut headline tour and carries with it a lot of raw energy. While we love ‘The Man Who Seeks Pleasure’ which features on our EP, we wanted to release a version with the full band arrangement. We’re really excited to be able to share it with you now.”
At this year's Great Escape Festival in Brighton, the song was dubbed a standout performance. NME highlighted the 'goosebump-inducing vocal' and added that it might well have been 'the performance of the weekend'.
The Man Who Seeks Pleasure (Live from London) is out today on ISLAND Records.
Madra Salach’s has shared a raw live version of The Man Who Seeks Pleasure, recorded at their sold-out London gig earlier this year.
A staple of the band’s live set since their earliest days, The Man Who Seeks Pleasure became a stand-out after the Irish alternative-folk six-piece began performing it on the Dublin pub circuit, and now their live version is available to watch and listen to, letting fans relive the unforgettable performance.
