Homelessness charity VISIT has announced that Tallaght Adventure World will be opening its doors to those with nowhere to sleep ahead of Hurricane Ophelia.

The hurricane is expected to hit Ireland in the early hours of Monday morning, and there has been widespread concern for those who have no shelter from the storm.

Those who are sleeping rough in Dublin will be able to take shelter in Tallaght Adventure World, which is located at 1 Whitestown Business Park Tallaght, Whitestown, Dublin.

A post on the VISIT Facebook page also provides contact details for those within the organisation who can help (087 2036468 and 087 3679223). The post also asks for any available volunteers to come down to the complex and help out.

The post also reveals that no backup plan has been offered so far by South Dublin County Council — “WE HOPE TO FIND OUT 1ST THING IN THE MORNING IS THERE ENOUGH BEDS AND A BACK UP PLAN FROM THE COUNCIL.”
