Terrible news.

A 17-year old boy has died after colliding with a minibus while cycling in Meath on Tuesday. Gardaí in Laytown are investigating the incident, which occurred at approximately 5pm on the Golf Links Road in Bettystown. The teenage boy was cycling his pedal cycle when he collided with a minibus. He was fatally injured and his body has been removed to Navan Mortuary. A post-mortem will be conducted in the coming days. The male bus driver (mid-50s) was uninjured. The Forensic Collision Investigators are currently conducting an examination at the scene. The road remains closed and local diversions are in place.
