Tragic news.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána has confirmed that a 16-year-old girl has died after she was hit by a car in Ballincollig, County Cork on New Year’s Eve. The incident occurred at roughly 7.45pm on 31 December, 2018.
The girl, who has not been publicly named, was taken to University Hospital Cork with serious injuries. She was pronounced dead late on New Year’s Day.
The driver of the car was uninjured in the collision.
Investigating Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses to this collision.
