Teenager dies in Carlow road crash

Four other teenagers were injured.

A teenager has died and four others were injured following a single car collision in Co Carlow.

The 16-year-old boy was killed when the car he was driving hit a wall near The Nine Stones, Mount Leinster in Borris at around 5am.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four boys, all in their late teens, who were also in the car were injured and were taken to St Luke’s Hospital and Waterford University Hospital.

One of the teenagers is said to be in a serious condition.

The road has been closed for a technical examination and local diversions are in place.
