Temperatures to drop to as low as -1 degrees later this week

Weather foreceast

Yes, we’re in May, and yes, we’re going back to the actual minus numbers.

True story: I sat out in the “sun” this weekend – it reportedly never got above 14 degrees – but I still managed to get sunburn.

Anyway, you’d think we should expect more of that as we head further into the summer, but apparently, no, we’re going back the other way.

Or we’re skipping summer entirely this year and jumping straight to next winter.

Met Éireann have released their forecast for the rest of the week, and into next weekend, and it might be time to pack away the shorts and short-sleeved shirts, and break out the jumpers again…

Tuesday will be bright with just some scattered showers, temperatures staying between 9 and 14 degrees during the day, and 3 and 7 degrees that evening.

Wednesday will be pretty much the same, but with more rain, temperatures staying around 10 degrees during the day, and dropping to between 1 and 5 degrees at night.

Thursday and Friday is when the real bad news comes, when each night will see temperatures drop to as low as -1, while each day will see its fair amount of rain.

The weekend will apparently see things gradually return to more May-like weather, but we’ve got a nasty few days to get through before then. Wrap up warm, folks!
