Intense stuff…
Enormous waves battered buildings on the north coast of Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, over the weekend causing some serious damage.
According to local reports, over 39 people have been evacuated from their homes following the strong waves.
Footage uploaded to Twitter by Nelson Acosta shows the huge waves crashing into the side of a high-rise building, knocking away railings and other objects from the balconies.

Guests of a hotel in the area were also left stunned when waves battered the windows where they were eating.
The above incidents occurred after government officials issued a severe weather warning as a fierce storm battered the north of Tenerife and other areas of the Canary Islands.
The weather warning was downgraded on Sunday evening and expired on Monday morning.
