We know that Boyzone enjoyed worldwide popularity during their peak years, but we didn’t know just how popular they were with the notoriously hard to please Korean taxi-driver demographic.
Their popularity might be lost on music fans from a younger generation, but there was a time in the mid to late 90s when Boyzone were pretty big dogs as far as the pop music industry was concerned and they were beloved not just by screaming Irish teenagers who didn’t know any better, but throughout the world as well.
If anyone was in any doubt as to their popularity worldwide, then surely this picture of a Korean taxi-driver should illustrate their appeal when they were at their peak.
After all, he wasn’t just a fan, but he chose a picture of him wearing the t-shirt for the taxi-driver identification certificate which is visible in his car at all times and if we’re not mistaken, that’s a signature Mikey Graham slicked back hairdo he’s rocking as well.
With this year being the 20th anniversary of their formation, the four surviving members are playing a few shows in Ireland and the UK later in the year and no doubt this guy will do his all to be there. No matter what.
