The cheapest way for you and a friend to go to Ireland v Italy in London on Sunday

FOMO is strong after last weekend

Joe Harrington

FOMO is strong after last weekend.

The craic in London before, during and after Ireland’s game with Romania on Sunday was absolutely brilliant as the Irish fans took over Wembley and the surrounding area.

There was the giant drunken scrum, The Fields of Athenry at the Tube Station, the YMCA with a steward and messing with the big screen in the fanzone.

While all of that was amazing, it left a lot of people here at home with the ultimate FOMO – Fear Of Missing Out.

FOMO

If you did suffer over the weekend and are still feeling the ill-effects, we’re here to help because we’ve found the cheapest way to go to Ireland v Italy in London this Sunday,

We know it’s very last minute and a bit expensive, but if you and a buddy have a few bob in the savings account it might be worth the trip because it’s going to be savage.

FLIGHTS

We went on Google Flights and searched “Dublin to London” and the cheapest flight is this Aer Lingus one flying out on Saturday evening and returning on Monday.

We search “Cork to London” for the same dates and this is what popped up.

ACCOMMODATION

The good thing about the game being on in London is that we all know someone living there that can probably spare a couch or some floor space for a few nights.

If you and your buddy would rather do your own thing, there are some great options on AirBnB at the moment.

This place is on Hertford Road, which is very close to the stadium in Olympic Park, and you can stay there for the two nights for €162.

Alternatively, there’s somewhere like this near Shoreditch for €255 for the two nights.

MATCH TICKETS

We went looking for tickets this morning and we came across some interesting options on Viagogo which is one of the most reputable ticket sale sites in the world.

You can get your hands on a single Category C ticket (in the corner behind the goal) for €225.88. However, you can buy two Category C tickets beside each other for €484.26.

As always, be vigilant when buying tickets online.

In summary, the cheapest for you and a friend to go on the same flight, stay in the same place and sit beside each other at the game is €1080 (€540 each).

If you know people already going and want to join them, the cheapest way you can do it for is €609.

Don’t forget you’ll need a bit of spending money as well which will tot up the overall cost, but the memories will be priceless.
