Back in February of this year, a MAGA-hat wearing army of Trump supporters attended the Indigenous People’s March in Washington D.C.

Videos of the lads quickly went viral as it appeared to show that a number of the young Catholic students were mocking and hassling elderly Native American people at the event.

The story occupied the news cycle for days, as a number of conflicting reports emerged (Trump said they were being treated unfairly), one of which being that one of the boys was suing the Washington Post for defamation.

To be precise, the now 17-year-old alleged that the Post’s coverage included 33 defamatory statements in seven articles and three tweets.

However, on Friday, US District Court Judge William Bertelsman granted the Post’s motion to dismiss the complaint.

According to Buzzfeed, Bertelsman said that the boy in question alleged that the “gist” of the first article, which did not name him, was that he assaulted or physically intimidated the man, and engaged in racist conduct and taunts. “But this is not supported by the plain language in the article, which states none of those things,” the judge wrote.

It is expected that the boy’s family plan on appealing the decision.
