“That was, without a doubt, one of the most powerful pieces of television I’ve ever seen.”
The Crossing, broadcast on RTÉ on Monday night, has received plaudits far and wide for showing the work that the Irish navy do on the behalf of people looking to escape Northern Africa and cross into Europe.
Documenting life on board the LÉ Samuel Beckett over the course of one month, it made for incredible powerful television.
Every two bit "look after our own" racist should be tied down & forced to watch this. Bravo, Naval Service, bravo. #thecrossing @rte

Every single European politician needs to see #thecrossing – I have heard this story countless times, but seeing it? Far more powerful.
