Forget the traditional media: for an insight into what’s going on in Ireland, look to the people who’ve been posting videos on YouTube.

From the ascerbic animations of top-class Taiwanese news regurgitators NMA TV (above) to an Irishman stopped on a Canadian street telling it straight, to the sight of An Taoiseach finding it hard to say sorry – there’s plenty out there. Some of it is good, some of it is, eh, ok.

And so we’ve raided YouTube to present five very different video appraisals of our current woes.
