He was on the run for the last few weeks.

An armed robber who has been described as “violent and unpredictable” is finally behind bars again after being on the run for the last month.

Lee McDonnell escaped from a prison van in Dublin after a hospital visit when the van stopped to get him food at Macari’s chipper in Inchicore.

Reports at the time suggested that he managed to get out of the cuffs and somehow forced his way out of the van.

The Mirror are reporting that McDonnell was found in Clondalkin in west Dublin over the weekend

They say the criminal was chased through people’s back gardens in the area before eventually surrendering to Gardai on a garage roof.

The 23-year-old was brought to Ronanstown Garda Station before being transferred back to Portlaoise Prison.
