The southbound lane of M50 in Dublin is closed at Lucan following a serious accident early this morning.
A collision occurred at Junction 7 which has blocked all the lanes across that side and the incident has led to the closure of the motorway.
The Garda Traffic confirmed the news earlier this morning.
Rd Closed M50 at Jct 7 S/bound following crash & will remain closed until later in the a.m. following crash. Slip rd N4 onto M50 closed RT

The lane remains closed (as of 7:46am).
M50 S'bound will remain closed for another while after J7. Traffic diverted at J7/N4 but please avoid if possible.

According to the Irish Mirror, the person injured in the accident has been taken to hospital and the extent of their injuries is not yet known.
