The most expensive countries for tourists to visit have been revealed

Have you holidayed in any of these?

If you’re going here, make sure you have a stack of cash to burn through…

We all love a nice holiday, you travel abroad, drink some very overpriced beer and devour some quality but again, probably overpriced food and generally have the time of your life as you escape from reality for a few weeks.

The World Economic Forum’s Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report 2015 has ranked countries by average hotel cost, cost of living, flight ticket taxes, airport charges, and fuel prices in order to give you the most expensive countries to visit.

Unsurprisingly, the Scandinavian countries feature heavily on the list which isn’t surprising considering their minimum wage is much higher than most other countries which leads to higher prices for tourists.

As expected, the majority of the countries on the list are European but there are a couple of outside entries including Australia.

The top 10 most expensive countries are listed below in no particular order along with the average amount spent by international visitors in each country…

10. Austria – Average international visitor will spend €735

9. Italy – Average international visitor will spend €834
