The Subway ad wishing Tommy Bowe a speedy recovery is actually very clever

Judging by their previous efforts, the words ‘Tommy Bowe’ and ‘Subway ad’ in the same sentence are enough to strike dread into rugby fans. Their latest effort, however, is very clever indeed.

Judging by their previous efforts, the words ‘Tommy Bowe’ and ‘Subway ad’ in the same sentence are enough to strike dread into rugby fans. Their latest effort, however, is very clever indeed.

Bowe is currently laid low with a hand injury that threatened his participation in the rest of the Lions Tour but he has stayed on in the hope of recovering in time to play some part in the test series against the Wallabies over the next few weeks.

As one of his sponsors, Subway are keen to see Tommy back on the pitch as soon as possible and they released this advertisement earlier today in an effort to lift his spirits as he battles to get back to full fitness.
