We’ll be Baskin’ in ice cream.

American ice-cream chain Baskin Robbins has announced its intention to set up restaurants in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

According to a press release, the company will seek to grow its business in several locations – including Dublin, Waterford, Wexford, Cork, Galway and Belfast.

Baskin Robbins specialise in ice-cream cones, milkshakes, sundaes and ice-cream cakes – all things that you can never have too much of.

While Baskin Robbins was not on our list of five food joints that need to come to Ireland, we are definitely ready to welcome their delicious ice cream to our shores.

Baskin Robbins is also owned by Dunkin’ Brands, who are eager to gain a deeper foothold in Europe – which could mean that Dunkin’ Donuts will soon follow its sister company to Ireland.

Fingers crossed.
