There’s some great news on the weather front this weekend

Tony Cuddihy

It’s easy to tell the school year is starting again.

We’re looking at a lot of dry, warm and sunny weather over the coming days, with fine weather predicted over the weekend and well into next week.

It will be dry and sunny across the country on Thursday morning, and even though some thundery downpours could break out later on in the afternoon and early evening, the signs are good from Friday onwards.

Friday will be mostly dry with temperatures a comfortable 17 to 20 degrees, while the weekend promises warm and sunny weather across the country.

“There will be warm sunny spells in all areas,” said a spokesperson from Met Éireann.

“Cloud will build up at times also and there will be a scattering of showers with some locally heavy, thundery downpours possible.

“Highest temperatures typically 17 to 20 degrees.

“And next week will see warm, sunny spells in all areas and overall a good deal of dry weather is likely. “
