WATCH: Fans of Stranger Things will love this Irish bar’s Halloween decorations

Rosanna Cooney

We’re definitely checking this out.

It’s a series that hooked us and teased us and left us crawling around the floor but despite the innate scariness of Stranger Things it isn’t a series built for imitation Halloween costumes. The cast’s 80s apparel could all too easily be mistaken for everyday threads curated from thrift shops.

The Harbour bar in Bray has combatted this fancy dress impasse by expertly recreating Winona Ryder/Joyce Byers’ living room.

‘The Bar has always had paranormal feel to it, there’s definitely a few spirits floating around’ said Paul O’ Toole of the Harbour Bar. ‘Sure they used make coffins in the beer garden out the back during the potato famine’.

Recreating the Byers’ living room wall was Aisling Burke’s nervous sweats inducing fairylight idea after the staff used to gather together after work to watch episodes of the on the same wall where the ouija alphabet now hangs.

Their dedication to the upside down world goes one medium further however and the Harbour bar have notched together a video to put a bit of Irish fear into the world.

Apparently the wall has become a selfie attraction for the hoards of Stranger fans making the trip down to wicklow.

We’ll be there for our Winona moment soon…
