You’ll be freaked out if you were in Quinn’s before this year’s All-Ireland hurling final

The pub in Drumcondra broke hygiene and foodstuff laws

Joe Harrington

This is disgusting.

Quinn’s in Drumcondra is a regular haunt for GAA supporters on a big matchday in Dublin because of its close proximity to Croke Park. It’s dead handy.

We presume the place was packed for the All-Ireland hurling final in September, and if you were there on that day, you might want to stop reading now.

A hygiene inspection was carried out in the pub the day after the game and the findings are pretty horrible.

The health inspector found “evidence of rat infestation” in two cellars where drinks were stored, rat droppings on the floor and traces of dried tissue which had been used to clean up human waste that had over-flowed.

Are you feeling like this now?

According to the Irish Independent, the inspector said that he hadn’t seen anything as bad in his 17-year professional career.

Quinn’s was ordered to close for 48 hours by HSE and the owners pleaded guilty at Dublin District Court to breaking hygiene and foodstuff laws. They have been fined  €1,750.
