Three arrested in Limerick on suspicion of membership of an unlawful organisation

The three men were arrested following searches on properties in Limerick on Wednesday.

Three men have been arrested by Gardaí in Limerick on suspicion of being part of an unlawful organisation.

Gardaí, as part of an operation targeting suspected dissident republican activity, carried out searches at six properties in Limerick city and county on Wednesday morning, 30 September.

The three men, two aged in their 20s and one in his 40s, were arrested during the searches and are currently detained under Section 30 Offences Against the Station Act, 1939/98, as amended at Garda Stations in Limerick city.

During the course of the searches, Gardaí also seized documentation and electronic devices.

Up to 40 members of An Garda Síochána from the Limerick Division and the Special Detective Unit in Harcourt Square in Dublin, supported by the Regional Armed Support Unit, were involved in the operation.
