They are due to appear before the Dublin Children’s Court.

Three male juveniles have been arrested in connection with an incident in which a Garda vehicle was rammed during scenes of cars “driving erratically” in Dublin last month.

The incident took place in Cherry Orchard on the evening of Monday, 19 September. Shortly after 7.30pm, Gardaí responded to reports of dangerous driving.

Upon arrival, Gardaí observed two vehicles driving erratically. Both vehicles failed to stop when requested to do so by Gardaí and one vehicle collided with an official Garda vehicle.

Video footage of the incident, which was witnessed by cheering crowds in the vicinity, was widely shared on social media and on WhatsApp.

Though no injuries were officially recorded, two Garda members involved in the incident subsequently reported as unfit for active duty.

In a new statement, a Garda spokesperson confirmed that three of the four male juveniles arrested on Monday morning (3 October) in connection with the incident have been charged.

They are due to appear before Dublin Children’s Court on Tuesday (4 October) at 10.30am.

The fourth male juvenile has been referred to the Juvenile Youth Diversion Programme, in accordance with the Children’s Act, 2001.

The Garda spokesperson also said that investigations into the incident are ongoing.
