Three more people with Covid-19 have died, 253 more cases

It brings the total number of deaths to 1,792.

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has said that three more people with Covid-19 have died.

253 new cases of Covid-19 in Ireland were also reported to the HPSC.

71% of the new cases are in people under the age of 45.

45% of the cases are confirmed to be associated with outbreaks or are close contacts of a confirmed case while 61 cases have been identified as community transmission.

116 of the cases are in Dublin, 22 are in Kildare, 14 are in Cork, 14 are in Galway, 13 are in Donegal, 10 are in Limerick, 10 are in Louth, nine are in Mayo, eight are in Waterford, seven are in Wicklow and the remaining 30 cases are located in Carlow, Cavan, Clare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Tipperary and Westmeath.

The HSE has said it is working to identify any contacts the patients may have had to provide them with information and advice to prevent further spread.
