A three-year-old Irish boy has died after sustaining injuries following an incident at a swimming pool in Spain.
The boy was discovered in the Cabo Roig pool in Orihuela, Alicante.
After being given CPR at the scene, emergency services were called and the boy was airlifted to hospital by helicopter.
Spanish police have confirmed the boy sadly passed away today.
In a statement to RTÉ, the Department of Foreign Affairs said it is “aware of the the case and is providing consular assistance”.
