Status Orange thunderstorm warning issued for 14 counties
Batten down the hatches.
After the immense heat of the past week, it's going to be a very rainy start to this week.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange Thunderstorm Warning for Monday (15 August).
The warning is valid in 14 counties: the entirety of Munster, Wexford, Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Kildare, Wicklow, and Dublin.
The warning is valid from 9am on Monday until 10pm tonight.

"Due to the sporadic nature of development, not all areas will be affected," Met Éireann said.
"Heavy downpours of rain and hail will occur in places."
Met Éireann is predicting that flooding will occur in areas where especially heavy downpours of rain are present. The UK Met Office, meanwhile, has also issued a Status Yellow thunderstorm warning for all six counties in Northern Ireland, which will remain in effect until shortly before midnight tonight.
While the south and midlands will be most affected by thunderstorms on Monday, the weather is expected to be fresher and drier further north with some isolated showers and intermittent sunny spells. Highest temperatures will return closer to the average, with temperatures ranging from 15 to 17 degrees in the north and west, and between 18 and 23 degrees in the rest of the country.
Tuesday is set to be cooler and quite cloudy across the country with scattered light showers.
Met Éireann is predicting that it will be an overall dry day, with highest temperatures reaching between 15 and 19 degrees.
Wednesday is also set to be quite dry, but the rain is set to make a return on Thursday morning, with a band travelling across the country, turning heavy in places.
The rain band will be followed by scattered showers through the evening, clearing to more widespread sunny spells in the west. Highest temperatures of between 16 and 19 degrees are expected with moderate southerly breezes veering westerly coming in the afternoon.
The following weekend is predicted to be a mix, with weather expected to changeable with the occasional rain or showers.
So overall, a fairly wet week after immense heat.
We hope you didn't throw away your umbrellas last week.
