Tiocfaidh ár ball – Lovely hurling from Gerry Adams

Ahead of the eagerly awaited first hurling semi-final this weekend, even Gerry Adams is getting into the swing of things, so to speak.

Ahead of the eagerly awaited first hurling semi-final this weekend, even Gerry Adams is getting into the swing of things, so to speak.

The Sinn Fein leader this afternoon posted a picture of himself and while we don’t know if he even made contact with the ball, far be it for us to suggest he didn’t.

Adams is obviously confident in his own skills, saying that former Cork hurler and current RTE pundit Donal Og Cusack would be jealous of his ability.

We’re not sure if he ever played the game himself, but he appears to be a fan and a number of years ago launched the first ever Puc Fada-type competition on the grounds of Stormont.

We could well imagine him as a no-nonsense full-back.
