We’re definitely not complaining.

Much like Manchester United’s form this season, Ireland’s weather has been all over the shop.

Yes, the mornings are darker and the nights are longer, but after the summer we had, it’s hard to complain too much.

That said, we’re Irish and dwelling on the weather is in our nature, so we’re delighted to say that we’re set to experience a mini Indian summer with temperatures expected to reach 20 degrees in some places on Wednesday.

Here’s what Met Éireann had to say about today’s forecast.

“Cloudy at first with patchy drizzle becoming confined to Connacht and west Ulster. Sunny spells will develop over southern counties during the morning and then also in other parts of the country through the afternoon. Warm for the time of year with temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees in southwesterly breezes.”

Tonight should be dry and clear, but the cloud will increase over northern counties later in the evening.

Looking further into the week, Thursday should also be dry but patchy outbreaks of rain/drizzle will gradually extend southwards through the day. Clearer conditions in northerly breezes will develop by evening with Thursday night set to be dry and clear in most places.

As for Friday, it’s set to be a dry and bright start with good sunshine throughout. However, we’re expected to be greeted by our old enemy, the cold, as frost develops overnight.

Thankfully, the weekend is set to have settled conditions with highs of 12 to 15 degrees.
