“It is literally the least you can do.”

Tom Hanks has said that he has “no respect” for those who are choosing not to wear a mask during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a recent interview with Associated Press, Hanks spoke of people refusing to wear a mask, saying: “I don’t get it. I simply do not get it. It is literally the leas you can do.

“If you can’t wear a mask, wash your hands and social distance, then I got no respect for you man. I don’t buy your argument.”

Hanks and his wife Rita were two of the earliest, high profile people to have been diagnosed with the virus back in March.

The married couple were hospitalised with Covid-19 in Australia, but have both made a full recovery.

The issue of masks has proven to be divisive around the world, with US President Donald Trump having previously voicing his opposition to them.

Trump has since seemingly changed his mind on the subject, saying in a recent interview that he is “all for masks”.

Many governments are now recommending face coverings, but they are not being enforced in most places.
