The Navan man will present four one-hour shows.
The legendary Tommy Tiernan will present a different type of chat show on RTÉ 2fm, starting this Saturday, July 4, at 1pm.
The four-part, hour-long series will run every Saturday in July and will be broadcast live from the Sugar Club in Dublin.
The Tommy Tiernan Show will see the top comedian interview two guests every week in front of a live audience.
But there’s a catch: Tommy won’t know who he is interviewing until they walk out onto The Sugar Club stage.
Each week will also see some of Ireland’s favourite and up-and-coming bands take to the stage.
Tommy said: “One of the great things about the old Late Late Show was not knowing who the guests were until they appeared on screen, it kept the whole thing lively, so I just thought, well, how would it be if the host didn’t know who they were until they walked out either.
“Every time I thought about it, it just made me laugh so… let’s see! Doing it front of a live audience is the key for me, it all seems like good unpredictable fun.”
