The global fuel and convenience chain will be building four new “state of the art” stations.

Topaz will officially be rebranding as Circle K as part of a €55 million investment.

The Texan fuel and convenience retail giant made the announcement on Friday, 13 April, by revealing that it intended to pump €35m into four new “state of the art” service stations over the coming 18 to 24 months.

A further investment of €20m is set to go into the rebrand of all 420 Topaz stations nationwide.

The move will result in the creation of 90 full-time and 150 part-time jobs across five different counties.

Circle K confirmed that of the four new stations, two would be built in County Kildare as well as Gorey, Co. Wexford and Athlone, Co. Westmeath.

The investment in these sites and the completion of recent newly developed sites at City North beside the M1 in Dublin, and Junction 14 on the M8 in Fermoy will lead to the creation of the 240 new jobs.

Circle K has also confirmed that the Re.Store brand will be replaced, although the existing food offerings will remain.

Commenting on the move, Jacob Schram, Group President of European Operations at Circle K said: “Ireland is at the cutting edge of forecourt and convenience retailing and we have big plans to build on the established position of the business in Ireland and bring our own global insights to the fore for the benefit of Irish consumers.”
