The opening night of the 2013 Electric Picnic festival was overshadowed by the sudden death of a 20-year old man from Dublin.
According to the Irish Times, Gardai are investigating the sudden death of a man attending the Stradbally Festival who was pronounced dead at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Portlaoise in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services were called to assist the young man at approximately 1am last night, while a Garda spokesperson told the Irish Times that the cause of death was unclear but that it did not appear to be as a result of violence.
A post-mortem is due to be carried out on his body in the coming days.
