Kudos to all involved.

With the recent news that a large youth turnout in the upcoming marriage referendum is vital for its success, TCDSU have literally raised the flag for Marriage Equality, right outside their front door.

A large 9mx4m flag stating “Trinity’s Gates Are Open to All – Vote Yes for a More Equal Ireland” has been unveiled over the Front Arch, firmly stating the Union’s stance on the upcoming marriage equality referendum.

Domhnall McGlacken-Byrne, SU President, stated “as a Union, we’ve worked towards the ultimate goal of marriage equality for many years. On Friday, the culmination of the work of thousands upon thousands of students, across decades of this Union, will come to a head.”

The Union have also registered over 3,500 students to vote for the upcoming referendum in a bid to stress the point that Trinity College is an welcoming location for everyone.

McGlacken-Byrne added”as a student body, we will have the opportunity to make history. This flag is an acknowledgement of that, and a call to action, not just for Trinity students, but for students around the country to get out and make their voices heard.”
