Ri Yong-ho, North Korea’s Foreign Minister has accused US President Donald Trump of declaring war on his country.

Yong-ho told reporters in New York that his country also reserve the right to shoot down US fighter planes.

Ri Yong-ho stated that all military options are on the table for Pyongyang to use and that North Korea reserve the right to take countermeasures.

He also suggested that they’re prepared to shoot down US bombers, even if they are not in the country’s air space.

Speaking with reporters in New York, he said: ‘The whole world should clearly remember it was the US who first declared war on our country. Since the United States declared war on our country, we will have every right to make countermeasures, including the right to shoot down United States strategic bombers even when they are not inside the airspace border of our country. Trump claimed our leadership would not be around much longer. He declared a war on our country.

As tensions escalate between the US President and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, US bombers and jet fighters flew off the North Korean coast on Saturday in a show of force.

Earlier this week, Donald Trump told a United Nations General Assembly that he would be prepared to “totally destroy” North Korea if they continued to test nuclear weapons, saying: “Rocket Man is on a suicide mission for him and his regime.”

Trump has also stated that that North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un “won’t be around for much longer” if they continue to make the type of threatening statements made by Ri Yong Ho at the United Nations on Saturday.
