“I view it as a badge of honour. Really, it’s a badge of honour.”

Donald Trump has said that he is pleased that America has the most cases of Covid-19 in the world, as it implies they are doing more testing than anyone else.

The US President said on Monday that it was not a bad thing that America now has over 1.5 million Covid-19 cases.

He said: “By the way, you know when you say that we lead in cases, that’s because we have more testing than anybody else.

“So when we have a lot of cases, I don’t look at that as a bad thing, I look at that as, in a certain respect, as being a good thing because it means our testing is much better.

“So I view it as a badge of honour. Really, it’s a badge of honour.

“It’s a great tribute to the testing and all of the work that a lot of professionals have done.”

This came after Trump was asked about a potential travel ban between the US and Brazil, after a surge in cases in the South American country.

According to the most recent information from John Hopkins University, America has 1,528,566 confirmed cases, as well as 91,921 deaths.
