As with all things in life, Trump’s reaction can, of course, be found on Twitter.

It is being reported that a few months back, the FBI raided the offices of Michael D. Cohen, the one-time, long-time lawyer for Donald Trump.

This weekend, it was revealed by The New York Times that the recordings reportedly contain Trump and Cohen discussing the option of purchasing the rights to a story by a former Playboy model who claims she had an affair with Trump.

Once that was announced, Trump soon took to Twitter to state his reaction:

“Inconceivable that the government would break into a lawyer’s office (early in the morning) – almost unheard of.

“Even more inconceivable that a lawyer would tape a client – totally unheard of & perhaps illegal. The good news is that your favorite President did nothing wrong!”

While the President seems to be suggesting that there could be legal ramifications for Cohen’s actions, the conversations actually took place in New York, and New York law allows one party to a conversation to tape it without the other knowing.

Meanwhile, Reuters are reporting that a person close to the investigation has confirmed that federal prosecutors in New York are looking into Cohen’s possible bank and tax fraud, and for possible campaign law violations linked to a $130,000 payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, as well as other matters related to President Trump’s campaign.

Trump believes that this is all a part of the ongoing “witch hunt” campaign by the Democratic party, put in place simply to damage the Republican party’s chances of winning the November election.
