A new Susan Boyle album wouldn’t normally interest us too much but then we saw the hashtag the record company used.
With an eye on the ‘difficult auntie to buy for in Kris Kindle’ market, Susan Boyle has a new album out for Christmas, called Standing Ovation: The Greatest Songs from the Stage. The Britain’s Got Talent runner-up wouldn’t be high on the JOE Towers playlist so how did we come to know so much about the Scottish singer’s latest release?
Well, last night her official Twitter account tweeted out about a listening party for her new album and the hashtag used led to it being retweeted and discussed heavily on social media today.

The tweet has since been deleted but it is too late to stop it now. There is no way we would have heard about her new album without it and the same will probably go for you so it is either a stroke of marketing genius or a massive inability to see what the rest of us saw straight away. Maybe we just have minds in the sewer.
Marketing win or social media fail. You decide.
