We're not really sure what they're going for here.

There are plenty of subtleties and nuances about how people communicate via text these days, but one of the more widely known tricks of text messaging is to essentially explain that you are flirting by adding a winky face to the end of your message. If you don't believe us, add a winky face onto the end of a seemingly innocent message and tell us if it doesn't change the tone.
