Former Aston Villa footballer Dalian Atkinson has died at the age of 48, after police officers fired a Taser gun at him.
Police were called out to an alert in Telford at 1.30am Monday morning, leading to an altercation where a Taser was fired at Atkinson. Medical attention was provided to Atkinson, but he was pronounced dead 90 minutes later.
Tributes, tinged with sorrow, shock and grief at Atkinson’s very untimely death, have begun to pour in on social media.
