Two people have died following a shooting in County Fermanagh.
Emergency services arrived at the scene of the incident near the Drummer Road area of Maguiresbridge village shortly after 8am this morning, July 23, a Northern Ireland Ambulance Service spokesperson has confirmed.
Two others have been left seriously injured as a result of the incident.
The spokesperson added: "Following assessment and initial treatment at scene, one patient has been taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, by air ambulance and another to South West Acute Hospital by ambulance."
Police have said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
First Minister of Northern Ireland, Michelle O'Neill said she is 'absolutely heartbroken by the news'.
"I have no doubt that the people of Maguiresbridge will come together and support one another through this incredibly difficult time," she added.
Ulster Unionist MLA for Fermanagh and South Tyrone, Diana Armstrong called the news 'heartbreaking' and 'distressing'.
"The loss of life and the serious injuries reported have shocked the local community.
"My thoughts are with the families of those affected and with everyone in the community as they come to terms with this tragedy."
Drummeer Road currently remains closed, and police have warned the public of traffic delays on alternative routes.
