Two Irish men have died following a car accident in Canada

Two Irish men have died in Canada after they were involved in a car accident on Saturday morning according to CBC News.

Royal Canadian Mountain Police were called to the scene at 10.30 am when a vehicle overturned on a Manitoba highway, near the town of Melita, Canada.

Paramedics attended the accident but the two men, aged 33 and 42, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are said to be looking into what caused the car to overturn and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information on the incident to come forward.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said it is aware of media reports that two Irish people were killed in Canada.

They have not received any requests for consular assistance at this time.
