Two men arrested after man receives serious head injuries following assault in Dublin city centre

The victim of the assault is currently being treated at the Mater Hospital in Dublin.

Two men in their 30s have been arrested after an assault on a man in his early 40s on Upper Abbey Street in Dublin on Thursday evening (23 July).

The victim of the assault received serious head injuries when he was assaulted by the two men. He was removed to the Mater Hospital, where he is currently being treated. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

A follow up search of the area located the two men who were involved in the assault.

They were arrested and conveyed to Store Street Garda Station, where they are currently detained under Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Investigations are ongoing.
