A fairly good excuse for not paying for the Valentine’s dinner.
Two Dublin motorists were handed early Valentine’s gifts by members of Gardaí after they were pulled over while applying make-up.
The pair each received a fine, this morning for €80, but it wasn’t all bad. They also got a lovely poem, which was secretly sent to them via Twitter, reading:
“Roses are red, violets are blue, €80 fine making its way to you.”
Awwwwwww.
Roses are red violets are blue, €80 fine making its way to you. 2 drivers left heartbroken after being fined this morning for applying makeup whilst driving. Early valentine's preparations perhaps? Pls drive responsibly #ValentinesDay ♥️♥️♥️ pic.twitter.com/cAl9qNTmqJ

According to a member of an Garda Síochána’s social media team: “One of them was actually curling their eye lashes.”

“Early Valentine’s preparations perhaps?”, they quipped.
On the plus side, despite losing €80 at least they will get their blush for free.
