If you’re looking to pop in for “a few bits”, this is your best chance.

Two Penneys stores will open for 24 hours next week in an attempt to spread shopping hours and reduce queuing in the shops.

The shops in the Blanchardstown Centre and Dundrum Town Centre will reopen at 7am on Tuesday and then remain open until 10pm on Wednesday.

The iconic retailer has confirmed that it will re-open all 36 of its outlets across the country from 1 December, once Government restrictions have been lifted.

Penneys confirmed that all of its stores will also have extended trading hours in order to meet the increased demand during the pre-Christmas period.

It did stress that safety will be the number one priority, with strict social distancing rules in place, as well as limits on the numbers of customers in store at one time.

There will also be Perspex screens at tills, hand sanitisation stations and the compulsory use of face masks in store by staff and customers.

CEO of Penneys Paul Marchant spoke about the stores reopening, saying: “We are delighted to re-open our stores in Ireland on 1st December with longer shopping hours to give our customers more time to safely do their festive shopping.”

This comes as Ireland moves out of Level 5 and into Level 3 from Tuesday, 1 December.
