Two more people with Covid-19 have died, 66 new cases

There has now been a total of 1,652 Covid-19 related deaths in Ireland.

Two more people have died in Ireland from Covid-19, the Health Protection Surveillance Centre has confirmed.

There have now been a total of 1,652 Covid-19 related deaths in Ireland.

The HSPC was also notified of an additional 66 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland. It brings the total number of confirmed cases in Ireland 24,990.

The HSE is working to identify any contacts the patients may have had to provide them with information and advice to prevent further spread.

In Northern Ireland, there has been one further Covid-19 related death reported.

The official Department of Health death toll in the north is 523.

There were seven new confirmed cases of Covid-19, meaning the the total cases in Northern Ireland stands at 4,716.
