There is an open investigation into two separate shootings in Dublin that occurred late Friday night/early Saturday morning.

As a result of the shootings, two teenagers are in hospital being treated for serious injuries.

The first incident is said to have happened around 11pm on Friday night, when emergency services were called to Shancastle Park in Clondalkin.

Upon arrival, they found a young man with a gun shot wound to the head and he was initially treated at the scene, and was then taken to Connolly hospital.

The second incident – which is believed to be entirely unrelated – is reported to have occurred around 2.25am on Saturday morning, and it involved shots being fired in a house at Barnwell Drive in Ballymum.

Emergency services arrived at the house to find a man in his late teens with a gun shot to the abdomen, and he was taken to the Mater Hospital

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to contact Gardai.
