Police attend alleged stabbing incident at underage Tyrone GAA game

The alleged incident occurred at an Under-16 game in Tyrone.

It is understood that the police have had to attend an alleged stabbing incident at an underage Gaelic football match in county Tyrone. The alleged stabbing took place in Cookstown during the under-16 championship semi-final between Father Rocks and Fintona.

"Officers and colleagues from Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended and two people sustained stab wounds during the incident,” said a PSNI spokesperson.

"One man was taken to hospital and the second received treatment at the scene.

"A man, aged in his 40s has been arrested and will be taken to custody for questioning.
